Getting Started
----------------------------------------------------------------
Recipe Box is menu driven with an on-line subject sensitive help
system. Press F1 or <Alt H> at any time to activate the pop-up
window with help information.
Choose Quick Guide from the Main Menu (M,Q) to bring up a list of
Quick Guide selections. You can read about different features, as
well as learn short cuts.
Hold down the Alt key for several seconds to activate a pop-up
window displaying a list of Hot Keys. These features are
available at any time by pressing either the Alt key and the
appropriate letter or the correct Function Key :
Alt H : Help [F1]
Alt N : Note Pad [F2]
Alt S : Save & Continue [F3]
Alt X : Save & Exit to DOS [F4]
Alt T : Tag List (Display) [F5]
Alt E : Egg Timer [F6]
ESC : I am done with this ... [F10]
The ESC key and F10 have the same effect. It will let you
escape from where you are and return to where you were.
Hitting the ESC key enough times will return to the top
level Main Menu.
WARNING : You should never exit Recipe Box by turning off the
power. This could corrupt your data files.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Using the Mouse
----------------------------------------------------------------
Recipe Box will automatically detect whether or not a mouse is
active. If detected, a mouse character will appear on your
screen.
The mouse is set up to respond to a single button click or drag.
Both buttons on a 2 button mouse will respond in the same manner.
You can scroll through a list (or text) by dragging the upper or
lower potion of the pop up window. For example, select one of
the topics from the TidBits menu. Move the mouse pointer to the
lower portion of the window and depress the mouse button. The
screen will scroll downward until the end of text is reached.
Move the move pointer toward the top of the window to scroll
toward the beginning of the text.
To close the current window, move the pointer outside the window
boundary and click the mouse.
To select a menu item, click once to highlight and again to
activate. A single click outside the current window will close
the window (has the same affect as pressing the ESC key).
----------------------------------------------------------------
On-line User's Manual & Help
----------------------------------------------------------------
Recipe Box "manuals" are fully self contained within the program.
There are 3 methods to aid you in learning all the features :

Special Application License
----------------------------------------------------------------
Sunrise Software has made available a special licensing
arrangement for Recipe Box Version 2.
Sunrise Software will issue a Special Application License (SAL)
for Recipe Box. The theme is to promote the use of our software
with a special set of recipes (a Cookbook).
All features and functions are active in the SAL diskette as in
the Registered License version. If the holder uses Recipe Box
for adding in more recipes or cookbooks, then the holder is
required to obtain (purchase) a registered license.
An example of the SAL would be an organization publishing a
cookbook of 100 recipes plus offering a Recipe Box diskette with
the same 100 recipes. A person obtaining the SAL diskette would
have all the features of Recipe Box available to them.
If the holder of the SAL diskette becomes a registered user they
will receive the free utilities plus the 115 recipes distributed
with the Shareware version.
Sunrise Software will work with the organization to provide any
desired customizing, such as:
- Each recipe can be protected to prevent alteration
or removal from database.
- TidBits topics can be modified to provide specified
information requested by the supplier.
Similar applications include :
- Product promotion for food suppliers
- Marketing enhancements for Cookbook Publisher
- Fund raising opportunities

of free software utilities to registered users.
Disk Vendors, Shareware Distributors and BBS(s) may charge a

----------------------------------------------------------------
Definition of Shareware
----------------------------------------------------------------
Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
using it, you are expected to register. Individual programs
differ on details -- some request registration while others
require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
registration, you get anything from the simple right to continue
using the software to an updated program and a printed manual.
Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and retail software, and
the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
programmers, just like retail authors, and the programs are of
comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs and
bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of distribution.
The author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute
the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific group.
For example, some authors require written permission before a
commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.
Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
whether it's retail or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.
And because the overhead is lower, prices are lower also.
Shareware has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't
use the product, you don't pay for it.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Acknowledgment
----------------------------------------------------------------
By using Recipe Box you acknowledge that you have read this
limited warranty, understand it, and agree to be bound by it's
terms and conditions. You also agree that the limited warranty is
the complete and exclusive statement of agreement between the
parties and supersede all proposals or prior agreements, oral or
written, and any other communications between the parties
relating to the subject matter of the limited warranty.
